How do you get people to focus at 7:45 in the a.m.? In my office it’s with food; loads of carbs drizzled with icing .. and butter; pale, creamy, salted. This time, the butter came in an unusual shape – a small, beautifully molded turkey (Thanksgiving leftover?). It called to me from the dairy case and, being drawn to all things creamy and rich, I bought it and the entire bakery section at Byerly’s.
My mission? Introduce the staff to our new name and logo – TEMBUA, The Precision Language Solution. CEO didn’t think it was necessary – until a staff member remarked that she didn’t realize that TEMBUA had an A at the end of the name (I tried not to preen too much). The group placidly noshed on muffins and danish as I went over the name change.
So here’s the scoop … after 16 years, CEO decides to change the name to something that reflected PLS’s increased linguistic services as well as using a name (and consequently the 16 years of goodwill that goes with it) that could be protected legally.
Not sure how much was ingested – over and above the carbs, that is – but felt enough was so that now the staff now knows the what, where and hows of the year-long plan….
